Nautilus Apartments, Arinaga

Nautilus Apartments are a recent development in Arinaga, opened in early 2005, which includes five twin-bedded studio apartments for divers and others who want to holiday in a typically Spanish part of Gran Canaria.

If you are looking for a quiet location, away from the holiday centres of Maspalomas, Playa del Ingles or Puerto Rico, then this may be the ideal destination for you. The apartments are fitted out to a very high standard, and are located in a quiet, residential area of Arinaga, just five minutes walk from the beach, the town centre or our dive centre.
Arinaga is an ideal base from which to explore the North of the island, with the historic centre of Aguimes only ten kilometers away, Las Palmas thirty minutes, and other parts of the island which are off the main tourist trails within easy reach. The apartments are on the main bus route which will take you directly to many parts of the island. So whether you want to base yourself here to explore one of the Canaries most varied islands, or to take part in scuba diving or snorkelling in the El Cabrón Marine Reserve, or other adventure activities in the area such as windsurfing, quad biking or hill walking, If you are looking for a 'solid' diving holiday, such as learning to dive or taking an advanced course, or a multi-dive package of diving, then the proximity to our dive centre makes this an excelent base.

Some of our guests stayed at Nautilus apartments and liked it so much that they created a blog all about Arinaga and Nautilus apartments.

Staying in Arinaga

Arinaga is completely different from the purpose built tourist holiday destinations in the South of Gran Canaria. Until this year there was almost no holiday or short-let accommodation available, and the town has a totally Canarian atmosphere. It has also seen a lot of investment and development with the renovation of the Lime Kilns, the restoration of the old lighthouse, the completion of the 'Avenida' alongside the sea-shore, and investment in schools, sports facilities, parks and other public facilities. There are many excellent restaurants at prices well below the tourist prices of the South, and even the supermarkets can be 30% cheaper.

The sleeping area is separated from the living area by a simple traditional screen, giving the apartment an open and airy feel. The twin beds come with full bedding (you won't need much in summer!).
